This Privacy Policy explains how DigitalCave (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use the RichRank application (the “App”) on your Shopify store. By installing the App you agree to the practices described below.
RichRank is developed and operated by DigitalCave.
RichRank analyses your store’s products and pages for structured-data (Schema.org) completeness, scores how well they are prepared for Google rich results and AI search engines, and—where enabled—generates and injects JSON-LD structured data into your storefront. To do this the App reads store and product information through Shopify’s APIs.
When you install the App, with your authorisation Shopify grants it access to the following, used solely to provide the App’s features:
What we do not collect: RichRank does not request, access, or store your customers’ personal data, order details, or payment information. The App’s functionality does not require customer personal information.
We store the results of scans (scores, the list of structured-data issues found, and your App settings) so the dashboard can display them. This data is associated with your store and retained while the App is installed.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
We retain scan results and settings only while the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, the related store data is deleted from our active systems within 30 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing rv@digitalcave.uk.
In line with Shopify’s requirements and applicable data-protection law (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), we honour Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks: customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. As RichRank does not store customer personal data, customer-data requests are responded to accordingly, and store data is redacted on the shop/redact request.
We use industry-standard measures—encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure hosting—to protect the information the App handles. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to what is necessary to operate the App.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about your store, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact rv@digitalcave.uk.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notifying merchants within the App.
